Electrolyte is one of the main components of battery, usually in liquid state, but the all-solid battery electrolyte is solid, the risk of fire accident is small. Another feature of the battery is that it can be stacked to increase storage capacity per unit volume. As an extendable pure electric vehicle 。
The research team carried out research on making soft electrolyte films for all-solid-state batteries. A special liquid that helps lithium ions move is mixed with silicon oxide to form a glass membrane similar to a soft contact lens. You can adjust the softness by changing the amount of silicon oxide you use.

By turning electrolytes, lithium cobaltate for the positive electrode and lithium titanate for the negative electrode into gel-like materials, the experiment proved that a battery could be made using a 3D printer alone. They say they can be made in about two hours. Just coating the material, with ultraviolet light can be made, do not need high temperature heating, can cut manufacturing costs significantly. The flexible electrolyte is resistant to cracking, and it will be flexible to fit even when the component expands and contracts.
The research team will tweak the composition of the material with the goal of improving ionic conductance. The development of battery-powered cars has been successfully tested, with a top speed of 30 kilometers per hour. The researchers will make repeated improvements to increase the power output and consider installing it in pure electric vehicles. Positive electrode materials with high energy density will also be energetically developed.
